TABLE OF CONTENTS * 1. Introduction * 2. Disclaimer * 3. Technical Details * 4. Music * 5. Translation Credits * 6. Thanks 1. INTRODUCTION Please read this text file thouroughly before starting to play Kagetsu Tohya. It contains important information you may need to fully enjoy the game. Kagetsu Tohya is a visual novel by TYPE-MOON, and a sequel to their hit "Tsukihime". The main story, "Twilight Grass Moon, Fairy Tale Princess" follows Shiki Tohno, who finds himself trapped in a strange looping world. Apart from the main story, Kagetsu Tohya also contains ten shorter self-contained side stories, the "Ten Nights of the Dream", which are unlocked by reaching certain scenes in the main stories, and some other bonus stories and artwork. It is highly recommended to play Tsukihime completely before starting on Kagetsu Tohya, otherwise large parts of the story will make little sense. Navigating the main story is not easy and highly non-linear, but is explained in more depth in the in-game tutorial/help mode. For now, be aware there are no real "paths" in this game as there are in Tsukihime, but that you will just relive the same day over and over, making different choices and unlocking new ones until you solve the mystery. This patch started out as a test insert of some side story translations available in the Beast's Lair forums (http://nrvnqsr.proboards20.com), but has since attracted dedicated translators who provided the rest, working from the Korean patch by Team SKY. It has been a hell of ride, and we wish you fun with Kagetsu Tohya. 2. DISCLAIMER This patch is distributed in the good faith that it will only be used with legal copies of Kagetsu Tohya, of which you will need one to install the game. Do not use it with illicit copies, and more importantly, do not distribute this patch alongside the original game or parts thereof, or the game in patched state. This patch is distributed "as is" and without any guarantees, technical or otherwise. All problems arising from the use of it are yours and yours alone. Kagetsu Tohya contains explicit sexual and violent content and is absolutely not suitable for minors. Do not let minors use or access it. This patch is not endorsed by TYPE-MOON in any way. They also retain all rights to the content of this. 3. TECHNICAL DETAILS Since this is not a very complex game, low-end computers should be able to run it easily. Anything above 500 MHz and using Windows 98 should qualify. There will be no version for operating systems other than Windows - however, if you are playing this on an alternative OS, you most probably managed to get Tsukihime running on it too, and the same techniques should work with Kagetsu Tohya, since the engine is the same. The controls are the same as in Tsukihime: 0: Switch between the three text speeds 1: Slow text 2: Normal text 3: Fast text f: Toggle fullscreen/window mode o: Display text instantly s: Toggle fast skip mode CTRL: Hold for fast skip mode Arrow Keys: Move cursor (mouse clicking is preferred) Enter, Space or the left mouse button will advance the text. Escape or the right mouse button will display the ingame menu, from which you can choose more options. If you need help with finishing the game, use the ingame help mode available in the "Twilight Grass Moon" start screen. If you STILL need help, consult the flowchart that can be optionally installed as bonus content. Since not everyone is fond of the explicit erotic content in the game, this patch contains an option to automatically skip it. However, note that this does not make the game suitable for minors - it's still plenty violent at times, and the erotic content can be re-enabled with the click of a button. Whenever such content is skipped, the screen will become pink for a few seconds. 4. MUSIC Since ONScripter does not support CD-Audio well, you will need to rip the game music to your hard drive. Both mp3 and Ogg Vorbis format will work, however, ONScripter is known to crash randomly when switching mp3 tracks - so the use of Ogg is much recommended. You will need to name the tracks to trackXX.mp3 / trackXX.ogg, where XX is the track number on the CD. There are 17 tracks, numbered from 02 to 18 (01 is the data track). Place these tracks in the "CD" subfolder of your installation directory. 5.
